The small leps have historically been non-working companions, so fierceness is an undesirable trait in the general populous. They are prized for docility.

Good job everyone! There was a very high dice roll in this match (a 98). We consider that as a lepitaur just being on the ball for the day. (A very low roll means maybe the animal stumbled or just wasn't attentive for the match. )
