Remember that pure lines are important too, and often much easier to develop! Keep in mind that with billions of variations (btw, I actually undercounted before... There are two types of manes, and I calculated only one), getting the sae looking lepitaur from the AC twice is pretty nearly impossible. When you create lines, you can actually develop a standardized breed of lepitaur that is wholly unique -- even without any color mutations.
Also, I am going to organize my notes from my original concept for this creature years ago. (They were all handwritten, so I have to type them up.) I'm not sure if anyone is interested in seeing them. I have some old sketches too.
